This was reported by the journalist. the Director of the Department of information policy Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation, Anna Usacheva.
According to her, these plans were announced on Monday during the meeting in Naberezhnye Chelny under the chairmanship of the Minister of education and science of Russia Dmitry Livanov.
“By 2020 unmanned model will be equipped with a number of additional parameters and characteristics, and current performance has been improved to detect pedestrians regardless of direction of travel. Also provides for the possibility of discovery on the road of any obstacles, including small animals, including dogs,” said Usacheva. In her opinion, this skill machine “efficiently allocate the Russian solution from existing foreign analogues”.
The project on creation of the drones is implemented by the KAMAZ automobile plant jointly with Russian company Cognitive Technologies in the framework of the Federal target program “Research and development on priority directions of development of scientific – technological complex of Russia for 2014-2020” Minobrnauki Russia.
On Monday Minister of education and science pays working visit to KAMAZ, where he held a meeting devoted to the creation of a family of unmanned trucks, as well as got acquainted with the possibilities of the prototype, reported the press service of the Ministry. Unmanned truck is able to perform simple maneuvers such as “snake”, to unfold, to move in a motorcade, to stop in front of obstacles, to detect road markings and road signs, detect pedestrians and obstacles and to reach the speed of 60 km/h, noted in a press-service.
Unmanned KAMAZ Kama automobile plant is created together with the Russian company “Cognitive technology” (Cognitive Technologies), a developer of artificial intelligence machines. A prototype of truck was created in the spring of 2015 based on serial truck KAMAZ-5350 chassis with all-wheel drive 6×6.
