Sberbank has filed a lawsuit to recover about 3.3 billion rubles coal “daughter” of “Mechel”


MOSCOW, October 26. Sberbank of Russia has submitted to arbitration court of Moscow two claims about collecting with “southern Kuzbass” – subsidiary of “Mechel” – 3,29 billion rubles. follows from the materials published on the website of the court.

The statement of claim was accepted for production on October 9, its details were not disclosed. The next meeting on the case scheduled for November 30.

Today Mechel continues to negotiate with Sberbank on restructuring of debt (32,8 billion rubles and $778 million).

“Mechel” unites producers of coal, iron ore concentrate, steel, rolled products, ferroalloys, production high conversion, thermal and electrical energy. The company employs about 70 thousand people.

Chairman of the Board of Directors “Mechel” Igor Zyuzin and his relatives control 67,42% stake in the company.
