The Ministry of transport: from Russia to Ukraine will have to get through Moldova or Turkey

MOSCOW, September 29. Transport flows between Russia and Ukraine “will find out”, despite the ban on flights of Russian airlines in the airspace of Ukraine and counter Russia’s actions.

In Kiev now may have to get through Belarus, Moldavia or Turkey, said on air of the TV channel “Russia 24” the Minister of transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov.

“We still have rail service. Traffic flows will find their way and have, albeit with transfers via Minsk may be Chisinau, maybe Turkey, to get to those who are planning their trip to Kiev, and respectively, Ukrainians in Russia, primarily in Moscow,” he said, commenting on the decision of Russian authorities to close airspace for Ukrainian airlines.

“This is another blow to transit riders because approximately 40% of those who flew Aeroflot to Moscow and then continued his journey to Europe our airlines. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian government restricted mobility of its citizens, including in the direction of other European States and worldwide”, – said the Minister.

The prejudice of airlines of the Russian Federation will not be significant

Russian airlines will suffer from imposed sanctions on Ukraine, but this damage is unlikely to be significant. At the same time introduced restrictive measures will lead to the degradation of air links between the countries, said Sokolov.

“Now, in fact, these measures (sanctions) will lead to the degradation of aviation links between our countries. Of course affected our company, but it is not critical, because all the same amount, compared with the total volume of air transportation, not significant”, – said Sokolov. The Minister also noted that the decision of the Ukrainian government is “weird, because about 70% of passengers using air travel between our countries, are citizens of Ukraine”.
