The Rosselkhoznadzor: Georgia in the near future will begin deliveries of green crops in the Russian Federation

MOSCOW, October 26. The Rosselkhoznadzor agreed with Georgia on the supply of leaf vegetables during the meeting the head of the Russian Department Sergey Dankvert with the Advisor to the Minister of agriculture of Georgia Zurab Chekurashvili. It follows from messages of the Russian authorities.

“In fact, this is the final agreement,” – said the assistant Manager Rosselhoznadzora Alexey Alekseenko.

Deliveries will begin in the near future, however exact date will depend on the business, noted Alexeenko.

In addition, Chekurashvili reported that the competent services of Georgia is ready to supply the Russian market with safe shipments of citrus. Dankvert noted that by results of monitoring of claims to the Georgian plant products, the Rosselkhoznadzor no.

Previously, Russia had to open its borders to Georgian greens after a 10-year ban. The Rosselkhoznadzor and the Ministry of agriculture of Georgia on 16 January 2015 signed an agreement governing the resumption of supplies of greenery (dill, parsley, cilantro, etc.) from Georgia to Russia. The parties signed a document regulating the procedure for import of green crops. According to the Department for phytosanitary surveillance, seed control and grain quality of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia has restricted the import of greens from Georgia in 2005.
