Ukrainian UIA may prohibit flights in the Russian Federation as a mirror response to sanctions


MOSCOW, 28 September. “International airlines of Ukraine” may prohibit flights in the Russian Federation as a mirrored response. About it has informed journalists the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vnukovo airport Vitaly Vantsev.

“Definitely we will reply on the ban to fly Russian airlines in Ukraine the prohibition of “International airlines of Ukraine” fly to Moscow”, – he said.

“We wrote to all Russian companies that are included in the published list,” – said the press officer.

“Aeroflot” and about 20 Russian companies included in the sanction lists of the Ukrainian authorities. According to published on the website of the President of Ukraine to the document, the Russian carriers are partially or fully banned flights, transportation and transit through the territory of Ukraine.

The list is not only the largest Russian carrier “Aeroflot” (flies to Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv), but also three of his “daughter” the airline “Russia” and “Donavia”, “Orenburg airlines”. In the same list the second largest airline of Russia, Transaero, recently transferred under the operational management of “Aeroflot”.

The document also included such major carriers like S7 (“Siberia” takes the third place on volumes of transportations) and “Ural airlines” (the fifth place on volume of traffic). In addition, the list includes “Globus”, “Vim-Avia”, “Kogalymavia”, “Gazpromavia” and the Red Wings. All these carriers are the first thirty of Russia’s largest airlines.

In the sanctions list also got special flying squad “Russia”, which is engaged in transportation of the first persons of the country and 224th flight detachment of the defense Ministry.
