General Motors will be recalled 1.4 million cars due to the threat of fires

Moscow. October 27. Automaker General Motors Co. announced a recall of 1.4 million vehicles in North America, where there is a risk of fire because of oil leaks, reports CBS News.

Subject to review, the car models of Pontiac Grand Prix and Buick Regal 1997-2004 model years, Chevrolet Impala 2000-2004 model years, Chevrolet Lumina and Oldsmobile Intrigue 1998-1999, as well as Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1998-2004. All cars are equipped with six-cylinder engine volume of 3.8 liters.

It is noted that the review may have an impact on GM profits for the current quarter.

In 2008 and 2009, the company had already recalled about 1.5 million cars for a similar reason, but the repair doesn’t fix the problem: since it was recorded about 1,3 thousand cases of fire.

GM shares in the previous auction on Tuesday fell 1.1%.
