It will be the most modern pipeline in the world”, – said at the ceremony the Chairman of the Board “Gazprom” Alexey Miller. He asked Putin to give the command to welding the first joint of the pipeline.

“We make a serious step in the development of the Yamal Peninsula and the development of the system of main gas pipelines. Start!”, – said Putin.

The gas pipeline “Ukhta-Torzhok-2” provides for the supply of gas to priority for “Gazprom” the project “Northern stream-2″ which will directly supply gas from Russia to the EU export volume to 45 billion cubic meters of gas per year.”

Length of new export gas pipeline “Ukhta-Torzhok-2” will make about 970 km, the design capacity is 45 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Soon we will announce the results of tenders for the construction of five primary sections with a total length of over 500 km In the composition of the gas pipeline “Ukhta – Torzhok-2” provides for the expansion of seven compressor stations and one new construction, the total capacity of the KC – 689 MW.
