The head of Kazakhstan invited Japanese business to participate in privatization


Participation in the privatization will enhance interstate cooperation of Japan and Kazakhstan, said Nursultan Nazarbayev. He noted that the campaign includes state-owned shares in the mining-metallurgical, oil-extracting and other industries.

ASTANA, 27 Oct. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on Tuesday invited Japanese business to participate in the second wave of privatization in Kazakhstan.

In Astana on an official visit is the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

Nazarbayev reminded that Kazakhstan has been carrying out privatization of the economy. According to him, the second will be implemented, an unprecedented campaign of privatization and the sale of key assets of the economy.

“The list includes state-owned shares in the mining-metallurgical, oil-extracting industries, transport, communications, infrastructure. Your participation in the privatization would be a great opportunity to enhance our inter-state cooperation”, — said Nazarbayev, quoted by the Agency “news-Kazakhstan”, the Kazakh-Japanese business forum.

In turn, Minister for investment and development of Kazakhstan asset Issekeshev said at the forum it is planned to discuss some new joint projects.

“There will be signed 14 documents whose total value exceeds $ 1.5 billion. I am sure that after today’s forum will be new joint projects and contracts”, — said Isekeshev.
