A number of experts have expressed the feasibility to build the tunnel in addition to construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait. The head of the Crimea said that the budget funds in this project will not be made, but investors can count on administrative support.
SIMFEROPOL, 28 Oct. The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov promises to support investors willing to build a tunnel across the Kerch Strait.
Ferry crossing through the Kerch Strait (ferry port “Crimea” — port “Caucasus”) is the main transport artery linking the Crimea with mainland Russia. It is used to ferry both freight and passenger cars. By December 2018 for the budget it is planned to build a new bridge across the Kerch Strait. The work is in full swing, we have already commissioned the first auxiliary bridge for construction.
However, a number of experts and investors said about the feasibility to build the tunnel, which is considered in addition to construction of the bridge.
“The tunnel can be built, technically this is all possible to do, all the tools to do this, budget money to invest in this project will not. If someone wants from the point of view of investment then to provide an opportunity for cost crossing under the Strait, before reaching Kerch Peninsula, I two hands “for” administrative support in this part of the will,” said Aksenov journalists.
This Aksenov stressed that proposals for the construction of the tunnel a lot, however, a particular investor who is willing to Finance all construction work, no.
“While that subject organizations, institutions that are engaged in lending or willing to invest their resources in this project I have not seen”, — said Aksenov.
The head of the Crimea does not exclude that the project will undertake one of known Russian companies.
“Can be one of the well-known Russian organizations will undertake the financing of the project. But I don’t want to call people that represent the people who represent the project, in connection with the sanctions regime,” — said the head of the Crimea.
