“Gazprom Neft” has no plans to export from fields in Kurdistan


“Gazprom oil” since 2012 takes part in two projects in Iraq. The company intends to continue to carry out deliveries of oil from fields in Kurdistan, exclusively for the domestic market of Iraq.

MOSCOW, 28 Oct. “Gazprom Neft” has no plans to export the oil produced at oilfields in Iraqi Kurdistan, interested in supplies to the domestic market of Iraq, told journalists the head of “Gazprom oil” Alexander Dyukov.

“In Kurdistan we are interested in supplying the domestic market, domestic and supply,” said Dyukov, answering the question, not does the company plan to start oil exports from fields in Kurdistan.

“Gazprom oil” since 2012 takes part in two projects on the territory of Iraqi Kurdistan. Then the company signed with the Kurdistan regional government agreement on production sharing (PSA) in relation to the Garmian and Shakal. Later, in February 2013, the PSA was signed for another block Halabja.

“Gazprom Neft” is working in Iraq since 2010. The first project the company was involved in the development of the Badra field located in the Wasit province. In may 2014 at the field began oil production.
