Inflation in Russia for the third consecutive week stays at 0.2%


The rise in consumer prices in October were 0.7%. Champions of growth were the prices of cucumbers, adding a week almost 30%.

MOSCOW, 28 Oct. Weekly inflation in Russia from 20 to 26 October remained at the level of the previous two weeks of 0.2%, since the beginning of the year consumer prices gained 11.2 per cent, said Wednesday Rosstat.

Since the beginning of October increase in consumer prices amounted to 0.7%. On Tuesday the Deputy head of the Ministry of Finance Maxim Oreshkin told journalists that the Ministry forecasts inflation in October to 0.7% at year-end expects the figure to 12,2-12,4%.

In turn the Ministry of economic development is waiting for the deceleration of inflation in Russia in annual terms to 15.5% in October from September’s 15.7 per cent, a downward trend, according to the Ministry, will continue.

Over the past week the prices for eggs increased by 1.4%, sunflower oil, chocolate candy, caramel — 0.8-1%. Cottage cheese, cheeses, frozen fish, rice, pasta, salt and tea prices have risen on 0,3-0,6%. Simultaneously sugar became cheaper on 0,4%, pork — by 0.1%.

The prices of vegetables and fruits had grown on average by 4.8%, including cucumbers and tomatoes — by 29.9% and 21.3% respectively. At the same time, the carrot became cheaper by 1.8%, onion — by 0.4%, apples — by 0.2%. The prices for diesel fuel rose 0.2%, gasoline automobile have not changed.
