Total world production of wine in 2015 increased by 2% compared to the previous – until 275,7 million hectolitres, reported the international organization of winemaking.
MOSCOW, 28 Oct. Italy was the largest wine producer in the world in 2015, according to the international organization of wine (OIV).
In the production of 48,9 million hectoliters, Italy has regained the title of largest wine-growing power, which a year ago lost to France. In the new list of French producers take the second place (47.4 million hectolitres) and Spain third (36,6 million hectoliters).
Winemakers of the New world is considerably inferior to European counterparts in terms of production volumes: United States and Argentina had made to 22.1 and 13.3 million hectolitres of wine respectively, and completing the top five rankings. Russia is on the 12 place in the list — 4.8 million hectolitres.
In the communiqué of the OIV noted that the total global volume of wine production in 2015 increased by 2% compared to the previous — until 275,7 million hectolitres.
