Novak: Gazprom received from Naftogaz $454 million pre-payment for gas


Gazprom, for its part, ensured the performance of its obligations on gas supplies in the amount of 2 billion cubic meters, said the Ministry of energy Alexander Novak.

MOSCOW, 28 Oct. “Gazprom” received from “Naftogaz of Ukraine” 454 million pre-payment as part of the winter package, delivered 2 billion cubic meters of gas, said Minister of energy Alexander Novak following the meeting with the Minister of ecology, sustainable development and energy of France, ségolène Royal.

“We discussed the issue, including the transit of gas through Ukraine (at the meeting with the head of the Ministry of energy of France) In October… now really $ 454 million of funds received on account of “Gazprom” in the framework of these funds, Gazprom has secured the full performance of its obligations on gas supplies in the amount of 2 billion cubic meters of gas,” said Novak journalists.

As the Minister noted, Ukraine must continue to buy gas to avoid the risk of passing winter, however, while information about DATACOPY from Kyiv.

According to Novak, to date, Ukraine has pumped into its underground gas storages 17 billion cubic meters of gas. “In our view, this is not enough. Unfortunately, while other trenches we have no information that Ukraine is going additionally to buy gas, including own consumption and for pumping gas in UGS. We discussed the possible risks if will be a cold winter, gas capacity will not be enough, and I noticed our French colleagues,” — said the Minister of energy of the Russian Federation.

He stressed that Russia is ready to fulfill its obligations in full from the point of view of gas supplies to European consumers. “But we see some risks during the winter period”, — the Minister added.

“We need to continue to buy gas and, accordingly, “Naftogaz of Ukraine” needs to find the resources, or with the assistance of the European Commission, or private resources to provide additional pumping of gas into underground storage facilities and the availability of resources for current consumption,” said Novak, answering a question of journalists, that Ukraine has to do in order to remove the risks of gas transit to Europe in winter.
