Senators of the Russian Federation and the USA have agreed about regular contacts


During the meetings they discussed issues of renewal and further strengthening of inter-parliamentary dialogue between Russia and the United States through specialized committees, said the press service of the Federation Council.

MOSCOW, 28 Oct. Russian and American senators have agreed about regular contacts, reports the press service of the Federation Council.

“The Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev held on October 27-28, a series of meetings in the U.S. Congress”, the statement reads. The Senator is in Washington in connection with participation in the annual conference of the American-Russian Business Council (USRBC).

In particular, there had been a Frank and meaningful conversation with the Chairman of the foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Senate, Bob Corker, as well as with a number of American parliamentarians.

“During the meetings they discussed issues of renewal and further strengthening of inter-parliamentary dialogue between Russia and the United States through specialized committees and so-called “liaison groups”, reads a statement released on Wednesday the press service of the Federation Council.

The sides exchanged views on the development of the situation around Syria and Ukraine. “An agreement was reached to make such contacts more regular”, said in a press release.
