The financial authorities of Russia jointly with the Central Bank intend to address the issue of payments for supplies of fuel and energy resources in Russian rubles. According to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the need for greater use of national currencies in trade with other countries.
MOSCOW, 28 Oct. The issue of increasing the share of payments for supplies of fuel and energy resources in Russian rubles will be worked out by the financial authorities of the Russian Federation together with the Central Bank, told reporters by energy Minister Alexander Novak.
“The second issue (the presidential Commission on TEK — ed.) discussed the use in the calculations for the supply of fuel and energy resources of the Russian currency, the ruble. This question was vigorously debated, there are certain suggestions which, I hope, our financial service and the Central Bank will continue to work to ensure that this proportion has increased,” said Novak journalists.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday instructed to study the increased use of the ruble as payment for exports of Russian fuel and energy complex. In his view, greater use of national currencies in transactions with those countries with which the RF has an active trade.
He noted, however, that this should be done carefully so that economic actors do not suffer, but rather benefit.
