MOSCOW, October 29. The termination of flights between Russia and Ukraine is completely absurd, contrary to the interests of the two countries.
About it told journalists the President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“We have repeatedly stressed that the cessation of flights between Ukraine and Russia is completely absurd, which is actually contrary to the interests and carriers, and more importantly, Russians and Ukrainians. We hope that common sense will prevail,” he said.
Responding to a request to comment on information in some mass media that the situation joined the prankerami, Peskov said that “we hope that in such serious matters without them.”
Earlier the Rosaviation has directed to the state aviation administration of Ukraine the proposal to continue bilateral consultations for the early resumption of air traffic, says the message of the Russian Department.
Ban on flights
Kiev has closed its airspace to Russian airlines, and also has banned direct flights from Russia to Ukraine. Russia has used the response to the Ukrainian side. The ban came into force from October 25.
Against the interrupted direct flights airlines of third countries have shifted the ridership, providing transit passengers. The price for tickets has increased in 2-2,5 times, said the Federal air transport Agency.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian carriers are addressed in Rosaviation with the request to take measures to maintain regular air traffic between the cities of Russia and Ukraine.
The volume of air
Air communication of Russia and Ukraine to the actions of Kiev went on a number of fronts: from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Surgut. Flights to Kiev, Odessa and Lviv were executed five of Russian airlines, “Aeroflot”, “Transaero”, “Siberia”, “UTair” and “Russia”. On the Ukrainian side from Kiev, Odessa, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad performed the flights of “Dniproavia”, “Motor Sich” and “Ukraine International airlines”.
Passenger traffic between the two countries for 8 months of 2015 amounted to approximately 800 thousand people.
As noted in Rosaviation, hasty decision of the Kiev authorities has hit the citizens of Ukraine. According to Russian airlines, more than 70% of passengers of all flights between the two States form the Ukrainians.
