YEKATERINBURG, October 30. A rally of workers “Transaero” in Yekaterinburg will be held on 1 November, reported in the Department of public safety of Sverdlovsk region.

According to the former flight attendants of the company and the organizer of the event Yulia Kuznetsova, now the staff are preparing for the rally. “We are preparing banners and printing. The purpose of the picket – protest against the bankruptcy of the company, as well as revocation of operator’s certificate. We also want to draw public attention to the issue of maintaining competition in the market of aviation services. In addition, we support the provision of alternative jobs to the workers,” she said.

As previously reported, the mayor’s office also agreed to protest against the cancellation of the certificate of the operator “Transaero” on 1 November.

According to one of initiators of the rally in the capital Svetlana Borodina, the campaign organized to draw the attention of the leadership of the country. “12 thousand people remain without work, arranged in Moscow only 26 people from interviewed 700 employees, employees now complete uncertainty of their future. We want to support managers and employees of the airline, honestly, and safely worked 25 years,” she said.

In early September, the company “Transaero” was placed under operational control of “Aeroflot”. On 1 October the government decided on bankruptcy of the carrier. Filev has signed an agreement to acquire a controlling stake in Transaero after the former owners of the company are unable to build the package, necessary for the implementation of the transaction with “Aeroflot”.

Minister of transport Maxim Sokolov said that the certificate is revoked “once and forever”. While the current stock holders expect to reach agreement with creditors and restructure their debt, giving private banks – creditors 49% stake in the carrier. State-owned banks are the main creditors – the bankruptcy act for “Transaero”.
