Manufacturer Chupa Chups sued the brand “rainbow” veterans of the Afghan war

MOSCOW, 30 Oct. The court for intellectual property rights (SIP) initiated by the Italian-Dutch confectionery group Perfetti Van Melle terminated legal protection of the trademark “rainbow” owned by the Moscow region CJSC “business Association of veterans of Afghanistan “the World”, for products such as candy, marshmallows and chocolate eggs with toys.

As reported Friday in court, the claim was partially satisfied. M & as kept the soldiers-internationalists rights to the brand “rainbow” for products such as meat, fish, coffee, cereals, and such services as the provision of food and provision of temporary accommodation.

M & as in February, at the suit of the same Dutch company Perfetti Van Melle Benelux B. V. terminated the legal protection in Russia the trademark “Football” for confectionery products, including various types of candies and cookies that belonged to the Moscow manufacturer of beverages and confectionery products, LLC “New technologies”. The claim was satisfied partially: the court upheld the defendant’s right to release under a controversial brand sugar, rice, flour and cereal products, bakery products, ice cream, honey, spices, edible ice.

Perfetti Van Melle produces confectionery products and chewing gum (Chupa Chups, Fruit-tella, Meller, Mentos). The Russian representative office of LLC “Perfetti van Melle” produces, in particular, gummies “Fruit-tella. Football”.
