At the meeting of the Council of CIS heads of governments Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev noted that due to the participation of Ukraine and Moldova in two of the FTA (with EU and with the CIS) there is a threat of re-export of goods from European countries under the guise of Ukrainian and Moldovan.
DUSHANBE, 30 Oct. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Ukraine and Moldova about the impossibility to participate simultaneously in two zones of free trade with the EU and the CIS.
“Difficulties for constructive work creating solutions to some of our partners, namely Ukraine and Moldova to implement the Association agreement with the EU. We have repeatedly said that to participate in two free trade zones with the EU and within the CIS is impossible,” Medvedev said at a meeting of the Council of CIS heads of government.
In his words, “this poses a threat of re-export of goods from third (European) countries under the guise of Ukrainian and Moldovan”.
The Russian Prime Minister stressed that the withdrawal of those risks you have to take certain protective measures. “Against Moldova this decision Russia has adopted (from 1 September 2014). And from 1 January 2016 will have increased the level of customs-tariff protection in Ukraine. For her instead of the zero rates of customs duties to act in the most favourable conditions”, — said Medvedev.
According to him, also, “to Ukraine, as a country, have joined anti-Russian sanctions, will be distributed to our economic retaliation”. “All this is done in accordance with the rules of the WTO and the Agreement on free trade zone of the CIS with full respect for procedures”, — said the head of the government of the Russian Federation.
