Power generation at hydroelectric power plants decreased in comparison with previous year by 20%, the heat production in January-September decreased by 5%. Electricity consumption in the reporting period also decreased.
MOSCOW, 30 Oct. Power plant JSC the EuroSibEnergo produced in January-September 2015 48,57 billion kW.h of electricity, which is 15% lower than the same period in 2014, according to a press release from the company.
Power generation at hydropower plants amounted 40,12 billion kW.h, which is almost 20% below the nine months of last year. “A significant reduction in the production caused abnormally low water levels in lake Baikal, a weak inflow to reservoirs of the HPP and, consequently, reduced water flow through hydroelectric dams, established by Federal Agency of water resources,” explains the company.
Development of cascade hydropower plants (includes the Irkutsk, Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk hydropower) amounted to $ 6,96 billion kW.h of electricity, the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station on the Yenisei river — 3,06 billion kW.h. Power generation at coal and gas power plants rose by 13% and amounted to 8.45 billion kW.h.
The heat production in January-September decreased by 5%, up to 15,83 million Gcal, which is due to higher air temperature in winter and spring months, as well as the ongoing reduction of heat consumption by large industrial consumers.
Electricity consumption in the reporting period in UES of Siberia is the main region of the company decreased by 0.3% compared with the same period of 2014. and reached is 147.5 billion kW.h. However, due to ongoing in Siberia, the water shortage has changed the energy mix: share of hydroelectric power decreased by about 15% compared to the norm, the share of coal and gas generation exceeded 50%.
