Russia and Chile have agreed to cooperate in trade

BUENOS AIRES, October 31. /Corr. Elena Kondratieva/. Russia and Chile have agreed to cooperate in trade, investment and science. This was announced on Friday by the General Directorate for international economic relations at the foreign Ministry of Chile.

“The 8th meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Chilean Commission on trade and economic cooperation ended with agreements that will allow countries to expand contacts in areas such as trading in agricultural products, investment, and cooperation in education, science and technology”, – stated in the message.

The Russian delegation at the meeting, held in Santiago, headed by the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert. From the Chilean side, in particular, was attended by Deputy Minister for foreign Affairs on trade of Andres Rebolledo.

The representative of the Chilean foreign Ministry noted that the development of economic relations with Russia is a priority for the Republic. “We support a very important trade contacts with Russia”, – said Rebolledo. In this regard, he noted the importance of the Commission to “strengthen cooperation with Russia and with the Eurasian economic Commission”.

As well as the statement, both sides expressed hope that soon will be able to settle outstanding issues on the supply of salmon in the Russian Federation.

In addition, Russian businessmen met with their Chilean counterparts. As a result of negotiations were signed several agreements.
