The first Deputy head of the parliamentary faction “Fair Russia” Mikhail Emelyanov said that should be a ban on the operation of older aircraft, setting a maximum of 15 years.
MOSCOW, 31 Oct. The first Deputy head of the parliamentary faction “Fair Russia” Mikhail Emelyanov supported the introduction of the ban on the operation of passenger aircraft older than 15 years and does not rule out that a faction can submit a bill.
The Airbus-321 of airline “Kogalymavia”, who on Saturday was flying from Sharm El Sheikh to St Petersburg, crashed in the Sinai. Onboard there were 217 passengers and seven crew members. According to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Egypt, the crash no survivors. According to the Airbus aircraft A321-200 with the registration number EI-ETJ and factory serial number 663 was set in 1997.
“Unfortunately, in Russia is junk, which is not clear where operated. Planes get through third and fourth hands. As they were serving as watched nobody knows,” said Emelyanov.
“We need to ban the operation of older aircraft, setting a maximum of 15 years… the Faction “Fair Russia” will analyze the situation, and the proposals will be made”, — said the MP, responding to a question whether he was ready to submit a bill to the state Duma.
According to him, the position is “dictated by the greed of Russian companies”. “A large number of small companies that are unable to buy foreign equipment, nor maintain it, nor to watch her, not having the right staff who are responsible for the technical safety of airplanes,” he said.
He believes that it is necessary to come to two, maximum three large companies in the market, “which must compete with each other, to avoid monopolization of the market”.
The Federal air transport Agency said that so far there is no reason to believe that the cause of the crash of Russian airplane in Egypt was a failure, crew error or any impact.
