Report: PMI manufacturing China declining for the third month in a row


The value of PMI above 50 indicates growth in activity, lower – its decline. In October the PMI rose to 49.8 points, reported the State statistical Bureau of China.

BEIJING, 1 Nov. Zhanna Manukyan. The business activity index (PMI) in the industrial sector of the Chinese economy in October was 49.8 points, which was reduced for the third month in a row, according to the State statistical Bureau of China.

“In October, the PMI index was 49.8 points, remained at the level of the previous month”, — stated in the report.

Thus business activity in China weakened for the third consecutive month, in August this index was 49.7 points.

A value above 50 indicates growth in activity, lower — its decline.

According to official data, China’s GDP in the third quarter of this year increased by 6.9%, for the first time since the international economic crisis, falling below 7%.
