Ryabkov: the export of low-enriched uranium from Iran is in an advanced stage of preparation


MOSCOW, November 2. The question of the export of low-enriched uranium from Iran is in an advanced stage of preparation. This was stated in an interview with Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov.

“I can confirm that before the “day of realization” removal of excess nuclear material from Iran will be carried out, – said Ryabkov. – At us in a very high stage is the preparation for this process, documenting relevant decisions. Probably not so significant for those who are interested in this issue, but in this area we have made good progress”.

“The most important thing: no no no what obstacles, but problems remain, there are no circumstances preventing this,” the diplomat said.

When will expert advice

Expert consultations between the six and Iran on the implementation of the agreement will take place within 10 days, he said.

“In terms of removal of material (from nuclear Iran – ed.) we have progressed much further than for the reconfiguration of the facility in Ford, but in the second case, the grounds for concern, concern, – said the Deputy head of the Russian foreign Ministry. – Work is continuing steadily, purposefully, in the schedule. We provide a high degree of transparency, share with colleagues in the group of six that is on that and on the other direction, in the framework of the expert consultations, which are conducted periodically”.

“In the next 10 days the next round of such consultations would also have within the framework established in accordance with the Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD) joint Commission,” – said Ryabkov.
