The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko on Monday will arrive in Armenia on two-day official visit at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of Armenia Galust Sahakyan, reports the press service of the Armenian Parliament.

During the visit scheduled the meeting of members of the Russian delegation with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the speaker of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II.

In addition, the senators plan to take part in the opening of the IV Russian-Armenian interregional forum “Russia. Armenia. The Eurasian economic Union. New prospects for interregional cooperation”.

Russian-Armenian inter-parliamentary cooperation is at the highest level, said Matvienko on the eve of his official visit to Yerevan.

Legislators of Russia and Armenia will coordinate their positions and cooperate in various international parliamentary platforms such as the IPA CIS, PA CSTO, BSEC PA and at international parliamentary forums.

According to the Senator, co-chair of the Armenian-Russian Interparliamentary cooperation Commission Nikolay Ryzhkov, is expected to receive at the highest level. In addition, he believes that the meetings may be raised the question of the upcoming constitutional referendum in Armenia.
