Only 20% of the funds budgeted for 2016 to support the agricultural sector, will support new investment projects, said first Deputy head of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Gromyko.
MOSCOW, 2 Nov. Budget expenditures on agrarian-industrial complex of Russia in 2016 will only allow farmers to meet the obligations on their current projects and for the development of agriculture requires more resources, said the first Deputy head of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Gromyko.
“In 2016 on the implementation of the state program (agricultural development — ed.) as you know, planned 237 billion rubles… But it will ensure only the inertial scenario of development, to fulfill commitments on current projects,” said Gromyko, speaking at the parliamentary hearings in the state Duma.
He also pointed out that only 20% of the budget for next year amounts about 47 billion rubles will be aimed at supporting new investment projects, the construction of dairy complexes and greenhouses, orchards and vineyards.
“If we want five to ten years to become an agrarian country, which can not only? to feed their own people, but also to be among the leaders in exports of food, we have to find funds to support new projects that will provide intensive and growth, and increase production”, — said the first Deputy Minister.
He also drew attention to the need to increase production efficiency and yields of agricultural lands.
