Russian senators discussed the economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia


During the visit to Armenia the members of the Federation Council of Russia discussed with Armenian colleagues the work of Russian companies in the domestic market, cooperation at the level of small and medium business and investment issues.

YEREVAN, 2 Nov. The speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko met with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Galust Sahakyan.

“We discussed economic relations, and discussed issues of investment, discussed the work of Russian companies in Armenia, talked about the need to develop our cooperation at the level of small and medium business”, — said Matvienko reporters on the results.

She added that, in the opinion of the two parties, our Federal partner, strategic relations are developing consistently, expand your boundaries.

“We have noted significant progress in our bilateral relations”, — said the MP.

The Russian and Armenian sides discussed the issues of interregional cooperation. The Chairman of the Federation Council recalled that on Tuesday will host Russian-Armenian interregional forum “Russia. Armenia. The Eurasian economic Union. New prospects for interregional cooperation”.

A delegation of senators headed Matvienko is on an official visit to Armenia on November 2-3.
