MOSCOW, November 3. VimpelCom launched LTE network in the Moscow metro in the coming months plans to provide high-speed Internet a majority of stations reported in the press service of the company.
4G network operating in the 800 MHz band, will be available at three stations of the Sokolnichesky line Komsomolskaya, Park Kultury and Krasnoselskaya.
“We see that mobile Internet is becoming an increasingly popular service among our customers. The amount of data transmitted only in metro from January to September 2015 has increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2014,” – said technical Director of Moscow region “Vympelcom” Sergey Druzhchenko.
According to the company’s plans in the near future 4G network should appear in subway stations Serpukhov-Timirjazevskoj (Tsvetnoy Bulvar, Mendeleev, Chekhov, clearing, Serpukhov) and Ring lines (Novoslobodskaya, Dobryninskaya).
In late summer the other operator “the big three” MTS has also launched the 4G network at some stations of the Moscow metro.
