Japanese companies will be able to participate actively in the development of the resources of the Russian shelf, including the Arctic, as one of the main technological partners, said the head of “Rosneft”.

TOKYO, 6 Nov. The head of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin suggested Japanese companies to join the project of the far Eastern shipbuilding centre (UK) “Star” and put the court and equipment to develop Russia’s offshore resources, including the Arctic.

“Today, the Japanese shipbuilders such as Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Shipbuilding, and marine equipment manufacturers have the opportunity to enter the Russian shipbuilding projects, primarily in the UK, “Zvezda”, — said Sechin in Tokyo at the international conference on energy cooperation between Russia and Japan.
