Ukraine as a transit country of Russian gas will be “dead” if a joint project of Gazprom and Western companies implement, said Andriy KOBOLEV.
MOSCOW, 6 Nov –. In case of realization of the project “Northern stream-2” Ukraine will lose the income from the transit of Russian gas, said in an interview with Handelsblatt the head of the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Andrey Kobelev.
“If “Nord stream-2″ will be put into operation, Ukraine as a transit country of Russian gas will be dead”, — said Kobolyev.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the joint project of Gazprom and Western companies will deprive Ukraine of two billion dollars of profit.
The project “Northern stream-2” involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to the German coast. The shareholders ‘ agreement the joint project company New European Pipeline AG, which will build the pipeline was signed on 4 September.
