LDPR proposes to invite in the state Duma the head of the FSB in connection with the plane crash in Egypt

MOSCOW, 9 November. LDPR faction will insist on the invitation to the closed “Government hour” in the state Duma of the Federal security service Director Alexander Bortnikov in connection with the crash of Russian airplane in Egypt, which killed 224 people. This was reported by TASS Vice-speaker of the Duma from the liberal-Democrats Igor Lebedev.

“The Council of the Duma today, we intend to propose that in the next two weeks of plenary meetings of November to invite to the closed “Government hour” the Director of FSB Bortnikov on the tragic events associated with the plane crash in Egypt,” – said Lebedev.

In his words, “the events of the past 9 days, more and more suggest that just because planes don’t fall”.

“While the closure of Egypt for the rest of our tourists and our citizens only reinforce fears” – added the Vice – speaker.

Lebedev also said that “worried about the fate of more than 70 thousand citizens who left Egypt,” in particular, ” how will they return to Russia and what will be their fate today.”

“I would like to hear the opinion of the Director of FSB on the causes of the crash and about the measures in this regard are taken,” said Lebedev.

The tragedy in Egypt

The A321 aircraft to the Russian airline “Kogalymavia” carrying out flight Sharm El-Sheikh to St Petersburg, crashed on 31 October after about half an hour after departure. The wreckage was found about 100 km to the South from the administrative centre of province Northern Sinai city of El Arish, near the settlement of El Hasna. In total the plane was 217 passengers and seven crew members, none survived. Most of the dead were Russians. On Board were also four Ukrainian citizens and one Belarusian.
