The Central Bank: international reserves of the Russian Federation in October has decreased on 0,4%


The reserves in October decreased by 1,627 billion dollars, said the Bank of Russia.

MOSCOW, 9 Nov. International reserves of RF as of November 1, 2015 $ 369,64 billion against $ 371,267 billion dollars on October 1, according to the Bank of Russia.

Thus, the reserves in October decreased by 1,627 billion, or 0.4%.

International (gold and exchange) reserves of the Russian Federation represent highly liquid foreign assets available to the Bank of Russia and the government of the Russian Federation. The reserves consist of monetary gold, special drawing rights (SDRs), reserve position in the IMF assets in foreign currency (other reserve assets).

For 2014, the international reserves of Russia decreased by 1.3 times — up to 385,46 billion as of 1 January 2015. Historical maximum reserves reached in early August 2008 — 598 billion dollars, and in the crisis period decreased to 376 billion (mid-March 2009).
