MOSCOW, 9 November.The European court of human rights (ECHR) has received and accepted a complaint against the sentence of former aide to state Duma Deputy Ilya Ponomarev Leonid Razvozzhaev.
“On the complaint of Leonid Razvozzhaev on the sentence instituted proceedings in the ECtHR. The issue of assigning the priority is resolved,” – said his lawyer Dmitry agranovskii.
Earlier, a similar complaint was filed by another convict in the case of the attempt to organize mass riots in Russia Sergei Udaltsov. In their complaint, they note “it to inhuman treatment, lack of fair trial, unlawful composition of the court, the violation of the right to protection, right to freedom of expression and Assembly”.
In July 2014 the Moscow city court has declared Udaltsov and Razvozzhaev guilty of organizing mass riots in Moscow on 6 may 2012 and the attempt to organize mass riots on the territory of the country. The defendants were sentenced to 4.5 years of imprisonment in a standard regime penal colony.
In March of this year, the Supreme court left the sentence in force.
