The government approved the rules for the movement of empty freight cars


If empty freight cars without proper shipping documents at the port station the owner of the infrastructure or the carrier may move them to another station for discovery to orders of the owner.

MOSCOW, 9 Nov. The Russian government approved the rules for the movement of empty freight cars in rail transport, follows from the published decision.

“The resolution… will contribute to the cooperation between carriers, owners of railway infrastructure of common use with the owners of empty freight wagons on the move with railway stations”, — stated in the explanatory notes to the document.

The article of the Federal law stipulates that in case of presence of empty freight cars without proper shipping documents at the port station the owner of the infrastructure or the carrier by agreement with the infrastructure owner has the right to move them to another station for discovery to orders of the owner.

The rules for the movement of empty freight cars on railway transport approved by the Russian government.

The resolution approved the rules, which, in particular, establishes: the procedures for determination and announcement of port stations at which the carrier and the infrastructure owner has the right to move empty wagons; procedures for notifying the owner about the move belonging to it empty freight cars, and information that must include a notification procedure for the adoption of empty cars to move.

“The decision will contribute to the cooperation between carriers, owners of railway infrastructure of common use with the owners of empty freight wagons on the move with railway stations”, — added in the notes.
