MOSCOW, 10 Nov. Iran needs $ 50 billion for the development of the aviation industry and buy 500 passenger liners, said Minister of housing and urban development of the country Akhundi Abbas (Abbas Akhoundi).
“We currently have 250 airplanes. Only 150 of them are active and 100 are in non-working condition,” he said in an interview with IRNA.
According to Akhondi, air force, Iran lacks 400 aircraft medium-haul aircraft and 100 short-range.
The Minister also noted that the airports in the country are in need of reconstruction. The local passenger traffic of airports over 50 million passengers a year.
