Maybe in 2015 will be able to avoid the traditional December surge in prices, said the head of Ministry of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev.
BEIJING, 10 Nov. Inflation in Russia by the end of the current year could exceed the forecast of 12.2% and reach 12,7-12,8% if the current week dynamics of growth of prices will continue, said the head of Ministry of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev.
Last week the Ministry of economic development has named its official forecast on inflation at 12.2% by the end of 2015 lower bound.
“I think closer to 13% upper limit. We now have 11.2% of accumulated inflation (in October — ed.) if weekly inflation to 0.2%, as it was the last time, it means that somewhere in the 12.7-to 12.8% at year-end,” said the Minister to journalists.
While the speaker suggested that this year may be able to avoid the traditional December spike in prices.
“There is a chance that in December won’t be December normal acceleration, this is due to the behavior of consumers, now have increased savings, but the situation is very unstable, so precisely I can not say” — added the speaker. Last week Deputy Ulyukaev Alexei Vedev expressed the view that weekly inflation may slow down to 0.1%.
