Moscow. November 10. Gazprom and Kuwait petroleum Corporation signed a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the oil and gas sector, the correspondent with the signing ceremony.
The document was signed following the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Emir of Kuwait Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
In March 2014 Chairman of Board “Gazprom” Alexey Miller and Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kuwait to Russia Abdulaziz al-adwani discussed cooperation in the oil and gas sector. It was about the expansion of cooperation within the supply Gazprom’s liquefied natural gas to Kuwait and the implementation of joint projects.
Proven natural gas reserves of Kuwait amount to 1.8 trillion cubic meters, oil – 14 billion tons (6% from world). In 2012, gas production in Kuwait totaled 15.5 billion cubic meters, consumption – 18.2 bn cubic meters of the Deficit is covered mainly by imports of liquefied natural gas.
