Lufthansa canceled more than 900 flights, including in Russia, because of a strike of flight attendants


BERLIN, November 11. /Corr. Vyacheslav Filippov/. The largest airline in Germany – Lufthansa has cancelled around 930 scheduled for Wednesday flights, including in Russia, because of a strike of flight attendants. This is stated in the published on Wednesday the statement of the carrier.

As expected, their plans will have to revise about 100 thousand passengers. In the list of canceled four flights from Frankfurt to Moscow and two in St. Petersburg, on the flight from Munich to Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Before the Union Independent flight attendants organization (NOB) said that the strike, starting today, will be held in the airports of Frankfurt, Munich and düsseldorf to 14 November inclusive on all flights on long and medium distances.

Lufthansa tried in court to prohibit the strike, however the labour court in Darmstadt last night called sound strike in Frankfurt and Munich. The judge noted that NOB was clearly formulated target of the strike. Partial success was achieved only in düsseldorf, where the court banned the strike.

Flight attendants Lufthansa subsidiaries in the strike are not involved.

NOB announced the holding of the strike last Thursday after the two sides failed to agree on another round of tariff negotiations. Dispute, including on the issue of pensions for flight attendants, between NOB and Lufthansa continues for about two years.
