Tele2 20 days of work connected with 380 thousand subscribers

Moscow. November 11. Operator Tele2 for the first 20 days of work in Moscow and Moscow region connected with 380 thousand subscribers, said senior Vice President business management “Rostelecom” (owns 45% Tele2), Larisa Tkachuk.

Tele2 launched commercial operation of a network in the Moscow region on October 22. This week (until October 29) the operator connect 150 thousand subscribers.

In the Metropolitan region of 400 outlets of the operator, the contracts are also sold in 10 thousand points partners, such as “Euroset”, “Svyaznoy”, “Mail of Russia”, the retailer Pyaterochka.

To launch the network in Moscow and Moscow region Tele2 has collected about 30 thousand pre-orders for the connection.

Moscow Tele2 offers subscribers four tariff plan, which is 25-50% cheaper than similar fares competitors on “the big three”. In addition, the operator subsidises the connection of subscribers on the MNP (Mobile Number Portability, mobile number portability). In the first six months since launch, the visitors can go to Tele2 and other operators for free (normally this service costs 100 roubles).

Tele2 network in Moscow includes about 5 thousand base stations (BS) in 3G and about 2 thousand BS in the LTE standard. The network deployed at frequencies of 800 MHz, 2.1 GHz and 2.6 GHz. Rossvyaz has allocated Tele2 in the Metropolitan area of 7.5 million numbers in the code 977.

Fully cover the region with its networks, the company intends before the end of 2016. During this time, it is expected that the operator will become available in the Moscow metro. Currently to use the services of Tele2 can only at 9 stations.

At Tele2 in Moscow there is no GSM frequencies, so the operator does not provide services to the owners of “button” phones, which in the Metropolitan area about 40%. The operator focuses on customers-smartphone users. According to the company, the penetration of 3G devices in the Metropolitan area currently accounts for about 65%, of LTE devices – 14%.
