Tele2 launches LTE network in Moscow metro

MOSCOW, November 10. Tele2 launches LTE network in seven stations of the Moscow metro until the end of 2016, high-speed Internet appears on almost all the subway stations, reported in a press-service of the company.

It is noted that Tele2 subscribers can use the service within the 4G on the stations “Borisovo”, “Business center”, “Zyablikovo”, “Kotelniki”, “Lermontovsky Prospekt”, “Troparevo” and “Shipilovsky”. In General, communication services are available to Muscovites on nine stations.

By the end of the year Tele2 plans to provide third and fourth generation of more than 20 Moscow metro stations. Among them “Alma-ATA”, “Bitza Park”, “Zhulebino”, “woodland Park”, “Novokosino”. By the end of 2016, the operator’s subscribers can use voice communication and high speed mobile Internet almost all stations of the Moscow metro.

Previously, VimpelCom launched LTE network in three stations of the Moscow metro and in the coming months plans to provide high-speed Internet access most of the subway stations. According to the company plans in the near future the 4G will appear in subway stations Serpukhov-Timirjazevskoj (“Tsvetnoy Bulvar”, “Mendeleev”, “Chekhovskaya”, “Polyanka”, “Serpukhovskaya”) and Ring lines (“Novoslobodskaya”, “Dobryninskaya”).

At the end of summer MTS has launched 4G in Moscow metro, after 2 years, according to the operator, she will earn at most stations. Today, the network of the fourth generation available to MTS the metro station “Troparevo”.

Tele2 is a Telecom operator that was created by combining the mobile operator Tele2 and the mobile assets of “Rostelecom”. The share of Rostelecom in the JV is 45%, the rest – the former owners of Tele2 (VTB group owned 50% of Tele2, the other 50% were in structures of Bank “Russia”, “SOGAZ” and businessman Alexei Mordashov).
