MOSCOW, November 11. The foreign Ministers of Russia and Iran Sergei Lavrov and Javad Zarif discussed Sunday by phone the situation in Syria on the eve of the meeting of “support for Syria” in Vienna on 14 November. This was reported in the Russian depodesta.
“As part of the regional discussion agenda was continued exchange of views on ways to resolve the situation in Syria. In anticipation of the next meeting of the “Group support Syria” in Vienna on 14 November, the Ministers stressed the need for constructive approaches and coordination of international efforts to combat terrorism and promote the early launch of inter-Syrian political dialogue”, – noted in the Ministry.
“It was emphasized that the dialogue, as envisaged in the Vienna Declaration of the participating countries on 30 October, should be carried out under the auspices of the UN between the Syrian government and a representative delegation of the Syrian opposition and the external players, including participants of the “Group support Syria” to help the parties to reach an agreement and not replace the inter-Syrian negotiations and not try to anticipate the results,” – noted in the Russian foreign Ministry.
