Novak: Russia confirms interest in grid interconnections with Iran and Azerbaijan


MOSCOW, November 12. Russia confirms interest in United energy systems of Iran and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Minister of energy Alexander Novak at the 12th meeting of the standing Russian-Iranian Commission on trade and economic cooperation. He is Chairman of the Russian part of the Commission.

“We also confirm our interest in continuing the study of the interconnection of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan and consider a resumption of the trilateral working group”, – said Alexander Novak.

Agricultural products to Iran

Also Novak said that Russian companies are ready to supply agricultural products to Iran. This was stated by Minister of energy Alexander Novak at the 12th meeting of the standing Russian-Iranian Commission on trade and economic cooperation. He is Chairman of the Russian part of the Commission.

“(We support) the further development of cooperation in agriculture, increase mutual supplies of agricultural products. It should be noted the readiness of Russian companies to supply Iran with agricultural products, including wheat, barley, corn, vegetable oil, rapeseed, meal,” said Novak.

He also noted that between countries there is an active work on expansion of deliveries of dairy and animal products. The parties also engaged in the creation of enterprises for the development and commercialization of biotechnology.
