Secretaries of the security councils of Russia and Belarus discussed the threats to the security of the Union state


MOSCOW, November 11. The Secretary of the Russian security Council Nikolai Patrushev met with Secretary of security Council of Belarus Stanislav Sasem. As reported in the press service of the Russian security Council, they discussed the main threats to the security of the Union state of Belarus and Russia, the mainstreaming of interaction of devices of security councils of the two countries. “At the end of the meeting Patrushev and SECI signed the plan of cooperation of devices of security councils of the two countries for 2016-2017”, – noted in press service.

Patrushev also met with the head of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan Republic Ramiz Mehdiyev. “The sides discussed topical issues of international security in the Caspian region, as well as prospects for interaction between law enforcement agencies and security agencies of the two countries – said at the Russian security Council. – At the end of the meeting Patrushev and Mehdiyev signed a plan of cooperation between the staff of the security councils of the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic for 2016-2017”.

Another conversation took place at Patrushev with the Secretary of the defense Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Djumakadyrov. They discussed regional security issues in Central Asia, and signed a plan of cooperation between the staffs of the security councils of the two countries for 2016-2017. On the same day was signed a two-year joint work plan of the apparatus of the security Council of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia.

Cooperation of security councils of the CIS in the fight against recruiting of citizens in the Islamic state

As previously reported in the press service of the Russian security Council, secretaries of security Councils of CIS countries to discuss in Moscow cooperation in the fight against recruiting of citizens into the ranks of the terrorist organization “Islamic state” (IG) in the Commonwealth.

“Discussed issues of cooperation of competent bodies on countering illegal migration, as well as to coordinate actions of the CIS States in the field of ensuring international information security”, – said the press service. The meeting agenda also included the topics of international and regional security in the middle East and Central Asia.

“In this regard, discussed joint steps to counter the expansion of the terrorist organization “Islamic state”, including against the recruitment in the ranks of ISIS citizens of the States participants of the CIS”, – said at the Russian security Council. The meeting participants agreed that effective counter-terrorism, illegal migration and threats makes information security as relevant as ever the cooperation of security councils, special services and law enforcement, foreign and defense Ministers of the CIS countries.
