KALUGA, November 11. The new mayor of Kaluga Konstantin became Gorobtsov. He was the acting head of the city since April, when Moscow died of a heart attack, former mayor of Kaluga Konstantin Baranov. Before Gorobtsov was his Deputy.
“The majority of the votes in a secret ballot was cast for Gorobtsova. His candidacy was supported by 31 out of 33 deputies”, – reported the press service of the city Duma of Kaluga.
The new mayor deputies elected to 2020 – for a term of office of the city Council, which was formed by results of uniform day of voting in September this year.
Municipal Council chose the mayor from two candidates. Rival Gorobtsova was Executive Director of regional Association of employers “Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of the Kaluga region” Roman Potekhin.
Initially on a post of the Kaluga mayor claimed five people. Their nominations to the competition Commission was presented to the members. According to the recommendations of the Commission on the qualifications of candidates for the position of head of city administration, deputies decided to include in bulletins for voting of candidates Gorobtsova and Potekhina, explained in the city Duma.
The last elected MPs in early 2011 the mayor of Kaluga was Nikolai Polezhaev. Earlier the head of the city was chosen by the residents. After Polezhayev appointment to the post of Deputy Governor of Kaluga region, a mayor from October 2013 became the rams.
