Manufacturers asked retailers not to penalize them for failure to supply goods on a 12-tonicah


MOSCOW, November 13. Food manufacturers turn to retailers asking them not to set penalties for any failure to deliver goods associated with the introduction of “Plato”. This was reported in the Association of producers and suppliers of food products Rusprodsoyuz.

“If the suppliers due to lack of transportation will not be able to supply products to the trade network, we refer to ACORT (Association of companies of retail trade) with the request not to set penalties for failure to supply goods, as the situation is force majeure,” said Director of development “Rusprodsoyuz” Dmitry Vostrikov.

As previously reported, suppliers and food chain do not rule out disruptions in the supply of goods due to the introduction of the system of paid passage of heavy vehicles – many carriers have not received on-Board devices required for toll collection system.

From 15 November in Russia there will be a fee for drivers of trucks weighing more than 12 tons of tolls on Federal highways. In the period from 15 November 2015 to 29 February 2016 Board with trucks weighing over 12 tons will be charged at $ 1.53 per ruble per kilometer. Later in the period 1 March 2016 to 31 December 2018 the tariff will be increased to 3.06 ruble per kilometer. Until may 1, 2016 owners of such vehicles will not be fined for the violation of this requirement outside of the Moscow region.

In some regions Russia drivers of heavy vehicles held protests against the toll collection. Actions with the participation of hundreds of drivers of heavy trucks were held in the suburbs, near Novosibirsk, Karelia, Udmurtia, the Belgorod region and in other regions.

However in the Kremlin consider that the government will find a compromise in solving the issue of the imposition of tolls on trucks.

As told journalists the President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, the issue is at the centre of attention of the relevant departments, in particular, of the Ministry of transport.
