Novak: Russia is counting on preferences for projects in Iran


MOSCOW, November 12. The projects in Iran will be distributed mainly by competitive tender, but Russia hopes for preferences this was reported to journalists by the Chairman of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental Commission, energy Minister Alexander Novak.

“According to information from the Iranian side, the main condition is the implementation of projects on a tender basis. But maybe there will be some preferences to be issued, if interesting will be offered preferential terms of financing,” he said.

The trade turnover between Russia and Iran in the nearest future may increase to $10 billion. the journalists said the Minister of energy Alexander Novak at the session of intergovernmental Commission with Iran.

“I think we can leave in the near future to $10 billion in Almost every region we have a project,” said Novak.

The Minister hopes that the trade turnover between the countries will grow at more than 6 times from the current $1.6 billion.

The Minister of information and communication technology of Iran Mahmoud Vaezi agreed with Novak’s assessment and expressed hope that bilateral trade will grow in the next year.
