MOSCOW, November 12. South Africa is interested in increasing supplies to Russia of production of agricultural products and food. This is stated in the materials of Ministry of natural resources prepared for the plenary session of the mixed intergovernmental Committee on trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and South Africa, with the participation of foreign Minister of South Africa Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and the Minister of natural resources of Russia Sergey Donskoy.
“More opportunity for development of cooperation in the field of agriculture seen in the increase of mutual supplies of agricultural products. The South African partners today have a unique opportunity to expand its presence in the Russian market”, – stated in the materials.
“Given this trend, as well as implementing the agreement of the heads of our States, we need to promote the increase and extension of the range in the trade of agricultural products and food”, – said the Russian Ministry.
The Ministry noted that “Rosneft” is actively interested in the supply on the market South Africa of petroleum and petroleum products.
Russia and South Africa are also preparing a Memorandum of understanding regarding the reduction of tariffs for international telecommunication services in roaming between countries.
In addition, countries will consider the question of the abolition of transit visas. “A pressing issue of our cooperation is to ensure long-term stay of representatives of Russian companies in the Republic of South Africa for the purpose of doing business. We hope that the joint efforts of responsible ministries and agencies will be able to develop a mechanism for providing multiple entry business visas for three years with the possibility of stay of citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Republic of South Africa not more than 90 days during each period in 180 days, and to consider the abolition of transit visas,” – said the representative of the Russian Ministry of natural resources.
