The Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina also does not expect a surge in demand for cash compared to last year.

MOSCOW, 13 Nov. The Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina ruled out the possibility denominations and the replacement of money, noting that the demand for cash at the end of the year is seasonal.

In early November President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the denomination of the currency of the Republic of 1 July 2016 at a ratio of one to ten thousand and replacement to December 31, 2016 circulating banknotes of the sample of 2000 new.

“No, absolutely not”, — said Nabiullina in response to the question of state Duma deputies about whether the denomination or the replacement of money in Russia.

“This is the usual seasonal demand, when people at the end of the year to spend cash. This will not lead to any other effects related to monetary figures, because we will consider the parameters of the demand for cash in our operations of providing liquidity and other”, — said Nabiullina to the question about the demand for cash at the end of the year.

“This is a routine activity. And there is no surge in demand for cash compared to last, before last year”, — said the head of the Bank of Russia.
