YOSHKAR-OLA, November 13. The Supreme court of Mari El will be ready to announce a decision on the claim of the first Secretary of regional Communist party of the Kirov region Sergey Mamaev, demanding to cancel results of elections of the head of the Republic, on Friday at 16.00 GMT. This was reported by the journalist. court spokesman Dmitry Gordeev.
“Today, the court heard closing replicas of the parties and adjourned until 16.00 GMT. After it will announce its decision on the lawsuit”, he said.
As reported in the press service of the court, the court have passed debate “in the absence of Sergey Mamaev and elected head of Mari El Leonid Markelov”. “During the debate, the representative of the plaintiff supported earlier claims – to cancel the election results and recognize them invalid. The defendant in the person of the representative of the Central election Commission of the Republic with these requirements is not agreed”, – said Gordeev.
As previously reported, the trial on the suit runs from 9 October 2015. The reason for the trial was a statement Mamaev, who believes that election of the head of Mari El 13 September 2015 passed with violations.
The plaintiff put forward as a candidate from the Mari Republican branch of the Communist party, spoke in particular about the facts of destruction of ballots, ballot stuffing and “carousel”. Elected head of Mari El Leonid Markelov in the court acts as a third party.
The victory on elections of the head of Mari El on 13 September was won by the candidate from the party “United Russia”, Leonid Markelov, has scored more than 50% of the vote. Mamaev scored 32,33% votes.
