The Central Bank will consider a rate cut at one of its next three meetings


Moscow. November 13. The Bank of Russia will consider the possibility of a rate cut at one of its next three meetings, said the head of the CBR Elvira Nabiullina.

“The Central Bank before each meeting examines the entire set of indicators, which characterizes the current state of the economy, we are updating their forecasts and make a decision based on the analysis. This analysis will be conducted to the meeting, (December), so now to talk about the results of this analysis are premature. At the meeting on 30 October, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank decided to leave rate unchanged at 11% per annum, but add to the traditional statement, phrase of intention “with the slowdown of inflation in line with forecast” to resume easing policy at a future meeting. The next meeting will be held on 11 December, 29 January and 18 March.
